For most of my business career, I’ve been a pusher.
We need more customers! More engagement! More action!
My answer was always to do more. Try harder.
I was laser focused on taking specific action to get specific outcomes.
When I listened to people, I listened to act. I listened to solve.
This summer, I found myself exhausted by all the pushing.
The truth is that for all my excited talk of optimism and abundance, deep down I was driven by a scarcity mindset. I’ve always been motivated by what was missing.
I was attached to getting specific outcomes because I thought I needed them in order to feel successful. Or valued. Or appreciated.
This year I started to realize that my default approach of always doing more was actually disconnecting me from the deeper impact I yearned to make.
In the Impacters Co-op, I found space to examine my limiting beliefs and reimagine my approach to work.
Instead of finding better ways to push, I was encouraged to see how I could begin to pull.
How could I truly connect with, empathize with, and understand people?
How could I better connect with my own deepest inspiration?
How could I get in the habit of slowing down my action-orientation?
Another co-op member introduced me to the AAA Model which was a huge help in consistently getting me into aligned action.
Here’s me explaining how the model works:
This was such a game-changer that I also wrote an article about how valuable it is to get into “Awareness” and “Acceptance” before “Action.”
The big benefit was that I finally learned how to slow my roll.
I committed to new practices that got me to genuinely connect with and attract what I wanted instead of chasing it relentlessly.
The shift wasn’t just tactical—it was energetic.
And it’s opened up a whole new way of doing business that feels not only more sustainable, but is also deeply satisfying and fun.
The Trap of Over-Pushing: From Metrics to Meaning
For years, I was focused almost entirely on what I now recognize as masculine energy—action-oriented, outcome-driven, and structured with process.
That’s the mode of business we’re all taught: set goals, make plans, take action, repeat. It’s practical, and it gets results.
But relying on that energy alone comes with diminishing returns, especially for entrepreneurs.
The more I pushed, the more I ended up chasing outcomes that weren’t aligned with what really mattered.
And the irony? Much of my exhaustion came from trying to force results that might have come naturally if I’d just taken the time to connect first.
This idea of shifting from “push” to “pull” strategies—focusing on alignment and connection instead of constant action—became life-changing for me.
By stepping back, slowing down, and giving myself space to reflect, I found that I wasn’t losing momentum. I was gaining clarity. And that clarity made every action more effective.
The Feminine Energy Shift
Now let’s hand it over to Anna-Victoria Osborne, a fellow Impacter who has helped me and other co-op members to harmonize the feminine energy with our masculine defaults.
For so long, we’ve all been told that success comes from grinding harder and chasing faster.
But when I think about what truly makes a brand, a business, or a person magnetic, it’s not about how hard they work—it’s about how well they connect.
When you act from that place, your work has a resonance that naturally attracts the right people and opportunities.
This idea is at the heart of the co-op’s Friday FLOW meetings, which I lead each week.
These sessions are designed to help us cultivate our feminine energy: creativity, intuition, and connection.
It’s not about abandoning structure or goals—it’s about complimenting them with space to explore, reflect, and align before taking action.
Each week, I guide co-op members in a short quantum meditation that employs divergent focus techniques to bring us into Flow.
Neuroscience would describe this flow state in theta brainwaves and bhakti yogis would call it heart-space. It doesn't matter what vocabulary works for you – we all know this experience when it happens to us!
It's the experience of letting it happen instead of making it happen.
In these meditations people are able to get out of their minds and into their hearts and guts (which are way smarter than the mind by the way).
In this space you can have insights that never would have come through thinking about a topic longer or harder.
Here's an example of an “Aha” moment Edwin experienced in a recent Flow Meeting, where we did a meditation connecting with our 6 year old selves. The purpose statement he had been living by for the past 13 years was shifted in an instant just by experiencing the gift of Flow.
Here’s Edwin’s share, right after getting this beautiful download:
Finding Harmony
The beauty of harmonizing masculine and feminine energies is that you don’t have to pick one or the other. It’s about blending action with alignment, structure with creativity, and doing with being.
In the Impacters Co-op, this balance is woven into our weekly practices.
Our Monday MAP practice provides structure and focus (masculine energy), while our Friday FLOW meetings offer the space to connect and reflect (feminine energy).
Together, they create a rhythm that keeps us moving forward without losing sight of what truly matters.
This harmony has not only transformed how I approach my work but has also deepened my friendships and collaborations within the Co-op.
If this resonates, here’s how you can improve your own harmony:
Reflect: Ask yourself, am I relying too much on structure and action? Or am I stuck in reflection without moving forward? Identify where you might be out of balance.
Embrace FLOW: Set aside time each week for creativity and intuition. Whether it’s journaling, brainstorming, or joining a Friday FLOW session, let yourself explore without pressure.
Shift from Push to Pull: Focus on aligning your actions with your purpose and values. Think about how you can attract opportunities by showing up authentically instead of chasing every lead with an outcome in mind.
Our Personal Learnings
Edwin and I created a video together for the Dharma Artist Collective’s monthly contest, documenting how much we’ve learned from one another in this journey of better harmonizing masculine and feminine energy.
It’s a personal story that captures the specific ways that we’ve grown through balancing action and connection.
Join us in Transformation
When entrepreneurs balance masculine and feminine energies, they move from doing more, to doing what matters most.
In the Impacters Co-op, we’re actively working on this transformation. Through our weekly practices we’re not trying to work harder—we’re trying to work in harmony.
If you’re looking to better your balance, the co-op now has a free one week trial where you can join us for both a Monday MAP session, and a Friday FLOW meeting.
C’mon let’s create meaningful, sustainable impact that feels as good as it looks.
